This thin layer chromatography (TLC) plate comprises a C18-W (Wettable) Silica layer. It can be used in both normal phase or reversed phase separations with eluents from anhydrous solvents to mixtures with high concentrations of water. The relative polarity of the eluent determines the polarity of the layer. The Silica 60 has a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, particle size of 2-10um, and pH stability of 2-10. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. The UV-absorbing substances appear as dark-blue to black spots on a light - blue background. This analytical layer is bound to an aluminum support. It has a thickness of 150um and dimensions of 4x8cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: aminophenols, barbiturates, preservatives, nucleobases, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, steroids, tetracyclines, plasticizers (phthalates)

"Silica XHL" is a standard grade Silica 60 with a surface area of 500 m2/g, mean pore size of 60A, specific pore volume of 0.75 ml/g, and particle size of 5-17um. The TLC plates contain UV254 fluorescent indicator. This analytical extra hard layer is bound to a glass support. It has a thickness of 250um and dimensions of 2.5x7.5cm. There are 500 plates per pack. The layer has an outstanding hardness and is abrasion resistant due to an optimized binder system. The plate can be easily labeled with a lead pencil for clear identification. There is an increased separation efficiency due to an optimized particle size distribution. The UV254 fluorescent indicator has an increased brilliance and a low-noise background which results in a high suitability for trace analyses.

Alumina Neutral (pH 6-8) with UV254, analytical, polyester backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 200um and dimensions are 5x20cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: terpenes, alkaloids, steroids, aliphatic and aromatic compounds. To ensure sufficient adherence an inert organic binder is added to the aqueous suspension for coating. The aluminum oxide layer has a specific surface of about 200 m2/g (BET) and a pore size of about 60A. To activate the aluminum oxide layer, we recommend heating the TLC plates for 10 minutes at 120C.

Cellulose 300 aluminum backed TLC plates. The coating thickness is 100um and dimensions are 4x8cm. There are 50 plates per pack. Applications include: partition chromatography of polar substances such as amino acids, carboxylic acids or carbohydrates. Cellulose is especially used for partition chromatographic separations of polar substances such as amino acids and other carboxylic acids or carbohydrates. Compared to paper chromatography (PC) thin layer chromatography, cellulose offers shorter migration times and more concentrated substance spots resulting in a higher detection sensitivity. TLC plates (CEL 300) are coated with native, fibrous cellulose.
